Many thanks for the upload. Living nearby I went to this performance. One of my former classmates is playing in that orchestra and went on tour with Hilary.

She did a great work with this rare played concerto I never heard before up to this time. She speaks excellent German.

I went since several years to a lot of performances of her worldwide, but she keeps more and more distance to the audience from year to year. Her signing doesn´t help because it went rather stressful in the last time.

I have seen quite a few Hilary Hahn shows and met her at all of them, and I have some really nice memories of the meetings, and also some awkward ones. When you say she's keeping more and more distance, I would hope this is just temporary or possibly it depends on whatever night you catch her. I always think it's just me, so I'm kind of glad you told me this. :) Why did the last signing go stressful? You mean you were stressed or she was?

@chrismcgovernmusic Wow, that must have been horrible, missing the premiere of the Higdon Concerto! That's the one rule, though, that I think will never change; if the orchestra's playing, then no one can come in to the hall. I missed a friend's concert that way and from then on I always tried to show up an hour ahead of schedule!

@rogersmr5 Yes, but there's also the flip-side of that if you miss her portion of the concert as I did when I got lost getting to the venue in Baltimore during the 2009 season. I went all the way there to hear the Higdon Concerto (Then it was still unreleased and being premiered in select cities), and I couldn't even sit in the seat I paid for while Hilary was playing. I finally did sit down and listened to Dvorak Symphony #5. Great piece, but I could have heard that any time anywhere.
