House fire on Hamilton Street in Brockton

BROCKTON — Firefighters were battling a two-alarm fire at a house on Hamilton Street after 3 p.m.

Officials said the house appeared to be vacant. No injuries were reported.

The wood-frame house, located at 29 Hamilton St., was fully engulfed in flames.

The blaze sent smoke billowing out into the street, making it difficult to see the house.

Eight trucks and several ambulances responded to the fire

A fire department dispatcher said he didn't know if any surrounding houses were being evacuated.
