i think shes not a bad actress, its just she portrayed the "zi ling" from the novel wrong. zi ling is supposed to be well educated, well spoken and loves writing poems, and a romantic. Therefore she suits yun fan perfectly as he writes/plays his own music etc. however, in this series zi ling is being portrayed as an immature, spoilt young girl

I don't think wang jia-ni (zilin)'s acting sucks, you have to consider the fact that a lot of her scenes are vis-a-vis alex fong (yufan) who's saying all his lines in cantonese. And it's refreshing to see a playful reckless zilin paired with a sophisticated cool yufan, like opposites attract, much better than the actual characters in the original novel

Zi Ling is not supposed to be prettier than her sister, so its not wrong picking the actress for hte role!! For a newcomer, her performance is not bad.......

It's not really her fault. She was simply lucky. I do feel sorry for the sister, though. She hasn't done anything wrong to deserve this.
