the fact is that chicago was never going to win the bid given the fact that the US has hosted the games 2 times in 21 years the IOC was alway going to give it to a country that had never hosted it or had not had it for many years

Being from Chicago I am sad that we didn't win, but I am very happy for Rio because South America will get to host the Olympics for the first time. When Chicago does get the Olympics it will be a joyous moment.

Chicago had won the right to host the 1904 Summer Olympic Games, but at the same time the Louisiana Purchase Exposition was taken place in St. Louis, Missouri. But the Organizers LPE would not accept another International Event. So the Chicago Olympics were move to St. Louis. Thats how it became the St. Louis 1904 Olympic Games. And the Olympic games was a disaster.

I don't think the USOC wants another city to bid not even L.A. unless its Chicago The IOC are a bunch of rich snobish idiots who care about money than quality and or the athletes. Just look at Beijing 2008, protesters caused the torch relay to be discontinued, a chinese sport judge gave nastia liukin a low score on purpose, and dont forget the Chinese women gymnastics team ages. They don't care. Now its gonna happen all over with Nanjing Youth Olympics 2014.
