In experimentation, the researcher makes a direct intervention, which is then measured in some way. These tests are used with in-home, in stores or in test centres. Central location tests or hall tests show material to respondents in a secure and private environment; variations include the clinic, the mall intercept, the theatre test or cinema test and the van test. A panel is a set of individuals questioned or observed over a period of time. There are two types: the consumer panel and the retail panel. In a continuous panel research is repeated with the same individuals in the interval panel content changes or timing is irregular. In omnibus surveys clients ask their own questions on a survey run by research agencies. http://www.oxfordtextbooks.co.uk/orc/bradley2e
