  • do you realize how hard it really is to strict overhead press with no lower body push. this is insane.

  • I saw Dallas Cowboys Danny Noonan do a nice form push press with 375. Berestov's strict, no leg drive 330 does top that and he weighed less.  He must have done more than 330. People who rave about footballers strength are overlooking those superior performances of great lifters. Barbells, not pigskins!

  • @skirts365 i'm not saying that football is better, but you definitely have to factor in that football players don't train solely for strength. Football players have some pretty ridiculous strength too. They're obviously not going to be as strong as world class weightlifters, but they definitely deserve respect

  • @cactrotman 500 in this style? Not that I ever heard. Even Serge Reding's 502 was a layback. Kazmaier might have done 485 based on his seated 448 x 3. Savickas might be only man in world today to get close to a strict 500. Bill March at 235 did a really strict 410--at least as strict as this and that's 80 pounds more. He was 5' 8.5" If Berestov had been a one lift press specialist his other lifts would be well down from what they are and his press more than this.

  • @desolator11 If he weighs 105KG his press is 7.5KG short. I did 230lbs at 152lbs but was press specialist, front squat only 280. 1.5X body weight is quite hard but not as hard as you say. Bill March did 1.72 x his weight of 228 even stricter than this video. I don't think Bill could have snatched or jerked Berestov's lifts, Bill was press specialist. 1 of best chances to train to 1.5x pure press is to do full range weighted dips. Don't think March used them but Marvin Eder did 345 at 195

  • @skirts365 Agreed.  Football players are very weak when compared to OLers and PLers.
