"Business Executive" Director: Marc Daniels. This is in our top five favorite episodes. It has it all: great guest stars: Joe Besser and Shirley Mitchell, a fabulous dream sequence where, to her credit, Joan underplays and becomes "straight man" to Jim Backus, who really shines in this one and gets a chance to really strut his comic stuff, and even a great moral: "to thine own self be true." Part 1 opens with Brad and Joan about to spend a social evening with two long-forgotten law school chums and their wives who happen to be in town. The chums used law as a stepping-stone to business and their wives' clothes/jewelry loudly resonate with their affluent lifestyle. Brad decides to take an offer to become a business executive. Joan suspects that he is only doing it for her. She has a dream where her worst fears are realized. "Businessman" Brad is a changed man. She wakes from her nightmare and begs him to keep his judgeship. He assures her it's something he wants. Watch for Joe Besser and Shirley Mitchell in Part Two!
