False Albacore Surf Fishing

Sal Padavano lands a nice false albacore.

"Albies" are very difficult to catch. They can drive fishermen nuts by not striking a perfectly presented lure. Small metal lures are most commonly used by spin fishermen. Albies can be caught by fly fishermen as well.

False albacore should be released, as they taste like Meow Mix.

Thank for the vid and posting the proper name of this fish. All the boneheads down here in Southeast Florida incorrectly call this Bonito which has straight stripes on it's sides. These can actually be eaten too and are very good despite everybody calling them "trash fish" without ever having tasted one. Very bloody though!!
