Zenkudo pedal demo ( dumble sound)

shane conaway demo's the zenkudo pedal which is handmade by toshihiko tanabe. The Zenkudo can be purchased direct from Toshihiko. His email is tanabe@tanabe.tv.

This is my favorite overdrive/distortion I have heard in over 25 years of playing. I couldn't believe the sound this pedal makes when I plugged in. I really captures the essence of Dumble style amps.

Please keep in mind that this video was recorded on a canon camera and only gives a taste of what this amazing pedal sounds like.

Thanks! Yep, its jus a crappy cannon mic so the sound quality leaves a bit to be desired. I had to keep rolling of the high end to keep it from overdriving the mic. same with my other video. It sounds a lot better in person with the camera not in the equasion.

Yes I have compared it to the zendrive. I think this is closer to the D sound plus it has a 3 way position that changes the led from red,blue and green. Each has an entirely different sound. I have been using one set up in the red mode for a general purpose OD for rhythm work. More videos to come but I'm getting married in 11 days and haven't had time.

I've achieved in a none conventional way (FUCHS ODS100, ZenDrive, Ethos, all those Dumble based circuit) my own dumble sound, very close to the tone of robben ford on the track too much of his Truth record. I'm using a 1x12 mesa/boogie lonestar special combo with a les paul supreme with my RC Booster on the drive channel. Amp set at channel 2, drive switch on with the drive at 12:00 gain12:00 treb1:30 mid3:00 bass12:00 prescence all the way up master12:00.

Nice to see someone else owning this pedal! and yeah the blue mod is kinda fuzzy, but imo it's the best mode for that EJ or David Gilmour sound. Nice demo Shane, the best Dumkudo demo i've seen on YT or anywhere else. By the way do you get a small volume drop in the blue mode?

hahaha you're also confused with the voice knob, i hate it because i never got around to finding my ideal setting for that, but it's kinda cool for someone who wants to control those highs and all.
