Valery Gergiev conducts the London Symphony Orchestra performing the complete version of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Recorded in November 2008.

This recording won Best Orchestral Performance and Disc of the Year at the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2011.

  • What a treasure trove of musical invention Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet is, I just cannot get over it. Tshaikovski's overture (on the same subject) is impressive as well.
