10 roadshows for children and young people took place on 10 estates over the summer holiday period. Activities included video interviews with the young people about what they think of the estate, drama workshops culminating in a performance of drama and poetry about growing up in the area, face painting, bouncy castles, beat boxing workshop, DJ workshop, sculpting and mosaic making and games.
The aims
The aims of these events were to find out what the children and young people thought about their estate, including its appearance, crime on the estate and provision for young people. This was achieved through video interviews and drama and dance performances. The aim was also to provide the children and young people with a fun day at no cost to them or their parents and the chance to try out new activities such as sculpting and beat boxing.
