On August 31st our young Magellanic Penguin chicks marched to Penguin Island. The San Francisco Zoo is currently home to 54 Magellanic Penguins, which makes our colony the largest in North America! With 173 chicks born at the zoo since 1984, our colony is also the most prolific.
