First shown on Channel 4 in the UK in 2000, this is a somewhat tongue in cheek look at the history of the Eurovision Song Contest up until 1999. Presented by Harry Hill.

Part 8 concludes the look at the UK with interviews with Cheryl baker, Mike Nolan, and Bobby Gee of Bucks Fizz. This is followed by Ireland featuring interviews with Dana, and boxer Barry Mcguigan talking about his father Pat Mcgeegan singing in the ESC 1968.

  • A mixture of cynism and sentimentality in the irish? What about the arrogance and lack of music craft from the UK Terry??? And still thinking the UK should win with that bad quality music??

  • A ridiculous song? True? Had to win? Noooo way ...

  • @irjajit or Italy

  • Aaaah, Bucks Fizz... Bless 'em!

  • @Fabian81 You are an attention seeker because everything you write is utter shit and that's not an opinion that's a fact. You think the quality of UK music is bad outside Eurovision? The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin are too obvious to mention even though they are great. What about Peter Gabriel, The Alan Parson's project and other progressive and experimental artists. Not to mention UK soul, Garage, House and dance music. UK music rules Europe babe now stop talking shit.

  • They didn't discuss Germany! The Germans were one of the best!

  • bucks fizzy? only from switzerland!

  • haha, "the irish said that one of the girls had no nickers on"

  • Samantha Janus had a good voice though.

  • @Furienna

I'm considering doing something like this, In the style of Applemask's ITV in the face series.
