DataSift.net is a remarkable service, coming soon to those of us who use Twitter and Facebook. What does it do? It lets you "sift" Twitter's real-time "firehose" feed into smaller streams. It's hard to explain, so I asked Nick Halstead, founder, to give me a tour.

"We can cut out all swearing" - how, and would that apply to English only or to all languages?

it's pretty easy to make a list of words to filter out. In any language.

yes, sure. But how about different versions of one and the same word, I mean i.e. something like "Shhhh..te", "Fuuuu...k" - I mean, you cannot prevent people from posting all kinds of variations of swearwords, can you? If you can point me to a program which can do that, that would be really cool.

Very good and interesting interview Mr. Scobleizer. This is a platform that is great for those of us that search Twitter, on a daily basis, on those we follow, events that are going on, subject matter of interest, and a whole bunch more.
Good YouTube Mr. Scobleizer, Thank-you.
