This is the install of the new HES Model 5900 Electric Strike. You won't believe how incredibly easy it is now to install an electric strike. My die grinder is listed on ebay. Way to go HES!

  • what is it called? and where can you get?

  • The product is now called the Model 8000. You can get it many contract hardware distributors. Thanks for the post

  • Yes, just order it as either RF8010 (Prox) or IC8020 (iClass). The contactless reader will come in the box with the electric strike. Thanks for the post.

  • By the way! Since finding this post the folks over at HES have connected us with folks to get these strikes in place for our office.

They are AMAZINGLY easy to install--so much so that we wired ALL of our doors during construction just in case we would need to install access control.

No cutting of metal, just drop this in place of your current strike plate and you are done.

Beautiful product guys, I hope everybody tries it.

  • Thanks for the nice comments. You aren't alone; we are hearing comments from all over from people who have tried and now love our 5900. All we can say is that this product came into existence by listening to people like you--our customers--resulting in a product that improves the success in the job that they do. So, I guess we have you to thank. More to come! The HES 5900 Team.

  • Okay, this is really damn cool! Is it selectable between 12v and 24v? Is it rated for indoor use only? I'm more of a Von Duprin guy myself, but I'm going to buy one of these and try it out.

  • Thanks for the comment. Yes, the 5900 is shipped in 12 Volts, but can be easily converted to 24 at the job site.
