Nekobukoro isn't bad, a bit weird, especially if you don't speak Japanese. It is hard to be scared when you don't understand what they are yelling at you .

lol, The staff at that shop is probably under the impression foreigners like the weird ice creams that no one else wants (snake, octopus, etc...)
I know if I go there I'd probably try the octopus or some other sea life ice cream just for the sake of it.

They do sell normal ice cream there, they have a ton of awesome, tasty flavors! There is just a small section there with these unique flavors. Not necessarily means japanese people love fish flavored ice cream, they are added for people who want to try something totally new and unique! How about if you happen to be there feel free to try some weird flavor, but also get something really good!
