Well, the VC-10 looks very much like IL-62. What about a video "VC-10 vs IL-62"?

the only problem with going on YouTube using your iPhone is that some videos are blocked!! Grrr

Could you do a triple comparison? I would like to request you make a video of Boeing 727 vs Tupolev TU-154 vs Hawker Siddeley 101/Trident

@compdude100 disagree. VC-10 could land slower and take off slower than the 707. the 707 had a lot of american backing, and the VC-10 didn't. how many 707's are flying today, excluding KC-135's? although there are no airline VC-10's left, the RAF still operate a sizeable fleet.

No question but that BOAC wanted the VC-10 for hot/high altitude airport performance, but they must have wanted the same from the Boeing 707 as well as did many other operators. Interestingly, BOAC's Boeing 707-436 fleet used the RR Conway engines which type was also fitted to the VC-10. But notwithstanding the Boeing's superior economics, the VC-10 proved extremely popular with passengers on the North Atlantic and made a good living for its owner on trips back and forth across the pond.

@redtag501 Yes, was this preference due to the noise volume being lower because of the engines being placed at the rear of the fuselage? Sorry for the late response, had computer problems

The Vickers VC-10 was incredibly beautiful but less economical than the Boeing 707. In actuality, BOAC preferred the 707 to the VC-10 but being a nationalised airline at the time, was ordered by Her Majesty's Government to order the type. But the VC-10 also had a champion in the form of the late Sir Freddie Laker, then CEO of British United Airways who helped push the type into production.

@redtag501 I think a reason BOAC used the VC-10 has something to do with their 'hot and high' airports they used to fly to
