@joycescofield Your acting like your going to get shot. I lived in Beloit for 15 years and have never had ANYTHING bad happen.

@albirrojaPY1 Yeah, around Grant St. it's pretty nice except for certain people but every neighborhood has them. The only bad area I have seen for the 15 years I have been here is a road by the McDonald's close to McNeel Middle School. And a hill that I went up to get to my friend's house where the entire hill made me feel that I could get jumped at any second but when I got to the top, it looked perfect and nothing like the rest of the hill.

@Gweedo4ewa i lived in beloit mosst of my life,, and it has a lot to offer, but you must not have wanted what they were offering? p.s. wal-mart sucks

wtf guys, beloit is NOT a dangerous city. the only people who think it's dangerous are the rich suburban kids who think that older/smaller houses+a little diversity=ghetto. I mean, walking down switchtrack alley alone at night might not be the best idea ever, but that's just common sense. if you don't ask trouble too come find you, you'll be perfectly fine.

@Gweedo4ewa As with any city with a population of 35,000 there are bad parts of town and places you shouldn't be at certain times if you can avoid it. However, if you don't look for trouble generally in Beloit it won't find you. That means if you aren't in bars or known drug trafficing areas you will be good. Beloit has invested alot of money into the Riverside area and the I-90 area looks great also. Beloit has a bad reputation, but it is unwarranted.

@joycescofield Most of Beloit is safe. The high crime rate is only a problem if you go looking for trouble. Just stay out of the run-down parts of town, walk with a friend if you're going out at night, and you'll be just fine.

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks that Beloit has a lot to offer is retarded. I lived there for 15 years. It is a terrible city no offense big bear ron, but wal-mart is all we have. I guess Riverfest in july is cool too. Other than that it is terrible, almost everyone for fifty miles in any direction has heard of it and will tell you to steer clear. We definitely dont have harmony, it has way too much criminal activity, and the whole place is, not nearly slowly enough, going to crap.

hey, BBR! thanx for the love! there really is alot to be offered in Beloit. it's a very diverse city and you can see about anything here at any given time. it's like a melting pot of people from Chicago, Milwaukee, Rockford and the deep south. next time you swing thru going down I-90, honk the horn!
