Joey Cheek is an Olympic gold medal-winning speed skater. In 2006, he donated his winnings to a Right to Play project serving Darfuri refugees in Chad.
Many people say were not the world's police, and that we shouldn't "get involved" in another country's business'. Is it because our country has stuck it's noses into other people businesses in the past? If you think about it..when has our country really helped another country out, w/out thinking of the spread of communism or wanting something in return like a resource?
If we continue to say "it happens", or "let them die",...what kind of human beings are we then?
that is just to name a few of many problems that media and other mind numbing objects of projection made oblivious to. If everyone just helped the person to their left rather than looking across the ocean then I think this world would be a better place. =]
but at what expense? people thought the Vietnam war could be won but look at how it turned out =] be real. you can keep your head in the clouds but at least have your feet on the ground. Every life is equal but what is it really equal to? the cruel reality is this will happen. You want to look at other countries and try to fix their problems because you feel we are "better"? take ya head out of your ass. Racism, poor health, poor education, corruption, lack of citizen participation in gov't.

Trying to save innocent men, women, and children from genocidel killing...is not "babysitting".
You can say we've got "enough problems" here, but let me ask you: What problem, going on, in this country, is worse than an a Genocide?
Just because this isn't happening in this country, doesn't mean that these people's lives don't count.
I hate it when people like you say things like "babysitting" when talking about The Genocide in Darfur...
p.s: Lay off cursing God's name.
