I walked through the city limits,
Someone talked me in to do it,
Attracted by some force within it,
Had to close my eyes to get close to it,
Around a corner where a prophet lay,
Saw the place where she'd a room to stay,
A wire fence where the children played.
Saw the bed where the body lay,
And I was looking for a friend of mine.
And I had no time to waste.
Yeah, looking for some friends of mine.

The cars screeched hear the sound on dust,
Heard a noise just a car outside,
Metallic blue turned red with rust,
Pulled in close by the building's side,
In a group all forgotten youth,
Had to think, collect my senses now,
Are turned on to a knife edged view.
Find some places where my friends don't know,
And I was looking for a friend of mine.
And I had no time to waste.
Yeah, looking for some friends of mine.

Down the dark streets, the houses looked the same,
Getting darker now, faces look the same,
And I walked round and round.
No stomach, torn apart,
Nail me to a train,
Had to think again,
Trying to find a clue, trying to find a way to get out!
Trying to move away, had to move away and keep out.

Four, twelve windows, ten in a row,
Behind a wall, well I looked down low,
The lights shined like a neon show,
Inserted deep felt a warmer glow,
No place to stop, no place to go,
No time to lose, had to keep on going,
I guessed they died some time ago.
I guessed they died some time ago.
And I was looking for a friend of mine.
And I had no time to waste.
Yeah, looking for some friends of mine.

  • DAMN I WANT HIS JACKET!!!!!

  • Their music really did LIFT so much pain out of us 30+ years on ... inexplicable...pain relief xx

  • saw a magic fish

  • Good video. Powerful POWERFUL ending! For the record Ian used extension cord to hang himself to death with. Whatever he used he ended up just as dead I suppose. It was May 1980 on the eve of JD's US tour. On Ian's turntable was a copy of Iggy Pop's 'The Idiot'. I was 15 then and I remember it like it was yesterday. We were Joy Division FREAKS in high school! I am always reminded of my punk rock schoolmates whenever I see pictures of Ian so incredibly young! We all wanted to be like Ian....

  • Just one of many awesome tracks.

I was still a kid when he died and I was totally gutted. I had planned to see all their perfomances. Only got to see them at the Rainbow (they supported the Buzzcocks) and Wycombe (supported by Killing Joke).

30 years on the music still hits the spot.

  • @Fortwentt there is no pation in your comment and everything is based on hate and I really don't think it was neccessary to say those words for others like me to read. In case you mind JD just challenge them with your pieces of art so we would respect you rather than them.

  • really wanna see that movie

  • 5 people don't like this???....huh...

  • @Racc0onhead "control" is a movie by anton corbijn about ian curtis, singer of the Joy division. I highly recommend this movie to you:)
