@ChinaLizard I think I may have developed an opinion from this short segment of the show. I agree there is a scale within the gothic fashion from classy to tacky. I made an assumption from this clip that the presenters were set on extinguishing a personal style instead of improving upon her personal style.

I will agree with you on that.

@rawr1800 They actually aren't. This clip is taken out of context. Watch the whole episode, and you get a COMPLETELY different vibe. (BTW, making light-hearted humor =/= being rude.)

@ElectricShark (I know this is incredibly old. Ah well.) I saw that episode. That girl wasn't really dressing loli in a good or flattering way. Not everyone can wear that style and look good. Some can. But not everyone. Besides, I'm pretty sure anyone who goes on the show has to sign a waiver, saying it's okay for the hosts to do their thing. If one isn't open to change, then one REALLY doesn't need to go on this show. :/ End of story.

@rosesonata Eh, yes and no. If you watch the episode, they are actually very nice and open to her thoughts, as she is to them. I think a lot of folks over-reacted to this video, because it's taken WAY out of context.

Just finished watching the full episode, and realized how out-of-context this clip is taken. In the episode, it's very clear that Leanne WANTS a change, but just needs some help and advice to figure it all out. At the end of the episode, she's THRILLED TO DEATH and DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS! Plus, she's still *very* witchy, but now a HOT witch instead of a DRAB one! As she said in the episode "I didn't know I could be this pretty!" So, yeah, if she's happy, she's happy. Be happy for her, Goth kids.

@MisterMonkeyWhiskers No color? Of COURSE there's color! Those tights were RED and WHITE. Goths dye their hair any color...red, purple, blue, etc! One can be Goth and still have VERY wonderful colors in their wardrobe. :)

@herobydefault1 Their point wasn't to de-Goth her as much as it was to class up her look, IMO. One can be a classy, fashionable Goth that won't make PTA meetings a chore to attend (though I imagine their chore enough!), and there's plenty of Goth-like clothes out there that can make folks look AMAZING both to Goths and "norms" alike. :) Besides, if she's STILL wearing it, I figure she must LIKE it. (I know; surprise ending. LOL)

Dressing Goth =/= Dressing Frumpy/Badly. I haven't seen all of the original episode yet, but even just ten minutes in, I can see that she's happy for the advice. And heck, if she's still following the hosts' suggestions, then it's because she LIKES her new style. If you don't believe me, then consider this: she probably had to sign a waver for them to even air the show. They can't air it or do ANYTHING to her or her wardrobe w/o her signed permission. She knew what she was getting into.

For everyone slamming the hosts: It IS very possible to be Goth, AND have a classy look that doesn't frighten parents at PTA meetings. There are several sites on the web that can teach you to do this, from the Gothic Charm School site to the Corporate Goth site.

I used to like this show. Back when they just helped people who couldn't dress themselves and didn't care about fashion. Now they just take people's identities and shred them. There is a major difference between someone who throws on jeans and an over sized t shirt, and someone who just dresses differently. And, I know that they don't HAVE to do this, but they have people who "care about them" telling them they need to do this. Quite frankly, It's disgusting.

@Skatingangel44,
It's not what you think.
She is a Wiccan.
But she is a "Salem" wiccan so that means she has an image to put out there for business.
I am Wiccan but I don't care for her hats.
BUT I respect her right to wear them.
And I respect all people of all religions.
Unfortunatley, Stacy and Clinton just make fun of her and keep making nasty comments to perpetuate stereotypes about who she is.
