  • A little Tory public schoolboy who has always been critical of the Tory party and particularly Margeret Thatcher, who probably did the most damage, I'm not upper class myself, I'm a plumber (With currently shaky work prospects), but I've alwaqys felt Hislop is very honest and good at exposing the bullshit of politicians and tabloid media. I personally don't judge people by what school they went to. Its their actions that count.

  • I love Ian; he's witty, clever and, most importantly, regularly exposes Piers Morgan for the utter cunt that he is. Private Eye is a work of genius.

(btw, I am lower class and went to a comp :p)

  • 'I'm not going to let 'Loose Talk' in, for the simple reason that I don't think you can get away with coming in and dumping that on us.'

    That is just wonderful >.<

  • @wimpylassiter2336 It should just be said that this was neither Waits nor Hislop's finest moment. But who actually remembers this anyway? (apart from us watching it)

  • Oh wow... I gotta decide between Hislop and Waits? Nah... i worship them both.

  • @xXTheSockRockerXx He is quite eccentric though(Tom Waits), and that extreme within a person's character can lead you to assuming that he was on something, particularly when you have Ian Hislop, a straitlaced, moralising, conservative man who probably has no idea who Tom Waits is (due to his shunning of popular culture).

Don't get me wrong, I like both! They just had a bad day...

  • @xXTheSockRockerXx True... However I agree with Ian on the basis that no could understand what the f*** Tom was saying

  • Nothing against Hislop personally, he's done alot of fine work - but I do hate the presumption that he had with Waits that he was on drugs or was drunk. Waits has his own persona, he has always played that kind of role, he was well known for that kind of delivery...lets just say he didn't treat a HUGE talent with much respect. Just pissed me off a bit.

  • Ian hardly aged!

  • As funny/witty/informative etc as Ian can be...Tom Waits is a fucking legend and one of the coolest artists on the planet...

  • Ha, she thinks she's George Eliot, fail.

  • I know, but Curry/Currie both lead to large amounts of foul smelling brown sludge
