  • this cost you $200? how much were ka-bars back then?

  • @LedZeppelinXV

they were MUCH cheaper.. prob $20-40

  • Got one today. My first impression with this knife is very good. Very nice grip, well balanced and feels rock solid. Unused, but the edge was a little dull. Having it brought back to life soon.

  • @wolfenburger

Good point, the edge on this blade was NOT its best feature

  • That's correct, the serations are for notching. The steel is high carbon surgical steel, and they were produced from 1986 to 1998. I have a second edition that I bought in 1995 and I used it just about every day for years during my time in the military, and it is still top notch. It was also very popular during Dessert Storm as it is a great knife with a really good steel quality. They are hard to come by now and their value has increased.

  • thanks for the info

  • Everyone who says the back is not a saw has never even touched one. I've had mine for 20 some years and used the saw way to many times to count. It's a great knife and this was a good review. Thanks

  • Well this is not a saw, that s a other kind of blood groove. It can hurt very bad!

  • DO NOT SELL IT. Many people who has no clues of this knife. Tries to beat down price from ya. This knife is one of the kind. Any sensitive comments against this knife is basically luck of knowledge over knife. the serration of that knife is to CUT aircraft body shell & Wood if you want to.

  • @GearBuyersGuide Yep. I can agree with that.

  • That's my favorite knife back then..I'vE LOST IT...i CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE.... where i can get this now? thanks

  • I have 3 BMF's and 2 LMF's. Needless to say I am a fan of this knife.

  • The good old days.

  • these were very prone to breaking at the hilt, really not very well made......looked cool though, but not for the outdoors.

  • Use the serrations to either cut notches in wood for building shelters, tools, or triggers for traps. Also put a strand of barbed wire between the teeth and rock back and forth till the friction snaps the wire. Had a BMF since 95 and continues to serve me well.

  • i think the teeth are for sawing airplane aluminum, not wood. like the ontario pilot knife.
