im trying to do this quest with hermitaur armor and a hermitaur blade i think i got close oh and i bought 10 mega potions and 10 normal potions...and still lost, eny good advise

If you wanted you could bring 10 honey and 2 book of combos with you. Combine the honey with your 10 normal potions once you use up your megas. This gives you 20 megapotions, more than enough for any quest.

How can I defeat this with just the beginner items? I was just on a gathering mission Popo tongues and the dragon came.

You're not supposed to beat the Tigrex in the beginning mission. The goal is to collect the popo tongues to complete the quest before you get eaten. You'll have your shot at the Tigrex later.
