  • Looks like a free for all to me. the lack honesty, integrity and unyeilding greed from our leaders will bring us all down and they will fall into the toilet with us. when will the herds of sheep wake up?

  • NO WE DO NOT. Britain belongs to those who live within her! If in a referendum we collectively as a people decide that we want to be part of a kind of United States of Europe then so be it. But we are either fully in or fully out (as Barrosso has illuded to). Therefore we should either leave or intergrate fully and join the Euro, Schengen etc. This half-way-house is not a sustainable position to be in, we could not be weaker.

    My oppinion is leave!

  • @ViriathusVingathor I think you are right if the UK left the EU we would seek to trade more with the Commonwealth which is full of growing economies rather than the shrinking ones of Europe.

Russia, Europe and GB are all connected much more closely than folk imagine. I agree Russia's natural ally is Europe and GB. That being said I don't think the trust the EU as far as they can throw them, nor do they see it a stable and sustainable position .... and they'd be right.

  • @ViriathusVingathor it is very hard to see Europe not having some sort of trade arrangement with the UK even if it was 'outside' the EU. Political ego would flare up and then the dust would settle and normality would resume. Pro EU fanatics in this country and outside love painting a doomsday scenario which would never remotely happen.

If Britain was to unplug EU rules and regain control of fishing and agriculture it would boost competitiveness and increase revenues in other areas (fishing etc)

  • @888Valkyrie

    Russia is Europe´s,natural ally.

  • @888Valkyrie

Political analysts said,UK exit, will prompt greater approximation to Russia/Asia,which would tend to replace the Atlantic alignment, and China´s increasing power, strong by 2050/2060,and constant unreliability, which most likely will prevail, might make Russia to approach towards Europe,if menaced.

  • @888Valkyrie There are many advanced products produced only in the EU,it wouldn´t be so easy to find replacements to Europe´s offer,UK/Canada fare well in high technology, with the right decisions,I believe the medium term impact would be minimal.

"Net loser",irrelevant initial money loss, for much greater political integrity, and functionality,Europe would end recovering in full, replacing the UK imports if needed.

  • @ViriathusVingathor The EU may put a tax on UK goods but the UK would reciprocate and import from other nations - the EU would be the net loser as we have a £50billion trade deficit with the EU and that trade would simply go elsewhere if they were going to play 'silly beggars'.

The UK has neglected its commonwealth partners in favour of the EU and they all seem to be doing rather better. I'd prefer to see Britain trading freely with the EU and the Commonwealth without all the silly EU diktat.

  • @888Valkyrie Europe wouldn´t stop trading, your products however would be taxed,if any competition with EU made products, then taxed more heavily, once Europe realizes that a industrial economy, internal production, and a degree of protectionism are the only viable options.

Yes,make the referendum, hope the "out" option wins.

No resentments at least, from my part.

  • @ViriathusVingathor - I don't agree with your figures - UK exports to the EU are between 40% & 50%. Europe would not stop trading with us if we left the EU. The private sector would be unaffected. EU subsidies/endless rules have increased the cost of our food/products by distorting the market and 'locking out', The structural funds represent a tiny fraction of monies given to the EU by the UK and we shan't even go into the devastation of CAP, CFP and the legal system. The EU is a dog with fleas.
