  • Masoodjan...besyar maqbol...dont listen to this guy..who is probably jealous b/c he has no video or anything to prove....most indians i know are jealous of others learning classical music....i hope you come to usa so i can see you in person....as far as ustad sarahang cristal???/he was a complete classical singer..there are lots of ustad that i know are very jealous of him...he was the best not b/c he was afghan..he was the best b/c he was a great musician...take your jealousy elsewhere...

  • Dear Humayounp, thanks fr yr appreciation. I know, most of people talk but they are ignorant, or jealous, or wicked. Music is not a private property, and needs many years of hard work. I consider myself as an eternal student, and I shall keep working.

  • Dear Massoudbhai I appreciate very much your efforts to sing Dhrupad but honestly you should go to India and train for at least 10 or 15 years from some master like Fahimuddin Dagar before you can perform Dhrupad before others. The great Afgan khyal singer Sarahang also took talim for many years before he performed. Please don't take my comment to heart or feel bad but there is a proper process of rigorous training to go through before one can perform Dhrupad. It is a very difficult art.

  • Dear Massoudbhai have you heard the shuddha ma in your marwa ( not once but twice when you go to the lower octave). Anyway my intention is not to criticize or disparage you but only to make a constructive suggestion. In my opinion it is not enough to take lessons in Europe if one wants to reach a professional level. But if you are happy with your music what can be better. I wish you the very best in your musical quest.

  • That's a beautiful tanpura, must be custom made. Maybe that design gets more resonance.

  • Great tabla !!!!

  • AMRAT HUSSAIN you are a diamond in the world of music !!!

    Carl.

  • absolute beauty. i had no idea dhrupad was sung in afghanistan also. i thought HCM wasnot popular north of NWFP. I was wrong and stand corrected

  • very good answer : there is no shuddha Ma in Marwa. 2nd I never touch it in this vid. at 0.53 melody path is (D)mD with tivra Ma. sm time I go to GmD in karaj saptak. It is always difficult to hear because it is low frequency.Let it hear to anyone there is only tivra Ma. Maybe yr player is distortd or yr ear is wrong. 3rd improvise doesn't mean going quick in develpmnt; here is at least 6 parts of impro, and I go to all angas. sm time no need t imprvs. Do listen more dhrupad for at least 10 yrs.

  • Dear Massoudbhai the first time you have accidentally used shudh ma is at 0.53 and then again a bit later. Marwa uses tivra ma and not shudhma. The bandish sounds ok since it is from the CD of RFD. The weak part is when you start improvising from 1.40. Improvisation must use all the angs of the raga and not just one or two notes. Your improvisation is also weak because you are concerned about counting the beats and checking how far you are from the sam. I am sure you will improve with practice.

  • Please a little more, what can you say particularily about this shuddha ma in marwa, is it low ? high ? what can I do to improve it according to you ? Thanks
