Ronald Spiers was the real deal. He was the perfect soldier. Had neither compassion nor pity. in fact, he killed one of his own sargeants for disobeying an order.
There were several witnesses (according to Steve Ambrose, a historian) who saw him run into the Germans, and back.
Spiers also fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Spiers was reputed to be instrumental in the formation of the Delta Force. He was the original BadAss.
