(IMPORTANT: Read this section before watching)

Some scenes of this video are very graphic depicting violence and death. Due to this, I would reccomend that young children and people of a nervous disposition do not watch this video.

This video is part of an Art Project I made for school. This is Part 1, and Part 2 shall be uploaded soon. This video is meant to be highlighting choices made in life and the effects of those choices, whether good or bad. Which are good and which are bad are entirely up to you.

The assignment for this video was to create a video in the style of Ron Fricke with Koyaanisqatsi. I got a B.

The songs used in this part are Path and Harmageddon, both by Apocalyptica.

EXTRA NOTE: This video was never intended to have anything at all to do with Existentialism, Sartre, or anything else relating to philosophy. It was simply an art project that was meant to be based around Koyaanisqatsi, and I chose the word Existentialism as a dictionary definition because it was "the philosophy that man is free to choose his own actions" and I wanted to do a video depicting the consequences of these actions. Please remember that. It is not a philosophical definition, it is a dictionary definition, and this did not go into any sort of detail. Sorry if you are disappointed or feel that this is a waste of time, but it is what it is, and I can make no excuses for that.

  • Well, I read and re-read the comments and I still don't see any point at all to this video. So basically at your school you are free to just paste random images together, come up with a generic title and pass it off as art?

  • @playadominical Right, it's meant to be showing different choices throughout history, these choices have affected the world in some way, as well as the ability for man to choose his own actions. As a result, it is saying that due to these events, we can either be more free or less free, depending on your own thoughts. It is called Existentialism because it presents you with choices, and at the end you must make your own choice. Whether the previous choices were a good thing, or a bad thing.

  • @playadominical Also, please remember this was meant to be in the style of Koyaanisqatsi by Ron Fricke. I'm sure you'll be able to find it if you look. That video is about an hour and a half of random images put together with very little relevance to each other. As such, this was maybe a good recreation of his style, and possibly a bit mmore poignant with the message.

  • This is not an existentialist video. Nothing to do with philosophy of any kind. Thumb down, sorry.

  • @melissagrosberg I had not intended it to be an existentialist video. It is fully explained in the comments, and I guess I should include the explanation in the video description. Hopefully that will avoid future confusion.

  • What does Adolf Hitler has to do whit a powerboat crash?

And what do the 2 of them mean with existentialisme???

  • @tisiaan I have already explained this numerous times. Read Author Comments. Should be easy enough.

  • @melissagrosberg Read the description you sycophantic bitch

  • @playadominical If you've seen Koyaanisqatsi you'll get the allegory

  • Your disclaimer is 100% false for a simple reason: you are not aware of what you are doing. What you did was present an existentialist viewpoint of human existence without using words: that's all. You didn't know you were doing it, but you did... Existentialist philosophy was the last attempt to make sense of all the insanity and destructiveness of human civilization. It failed to make sense of it: just as you also failed to make sense of it. But... you DID present the truth.

  • Whoever made this video is an angry, messed up kid. It's pretty badass though.

  • yup, looks like a school project. Should be renamed SENSATIONALISM part 1
