Camera rotation spoilt an otherwise, "sweet" film clip...
I have flown Hughes 300B and C, R22 and Schweizer CBi. Schweizer Cbi is the "Deluxe", to fly, in piston..
R22 Sucks ... I am 6'3" and my Gentex SPH5 helmet scrapes the roof. No problem in the Schweizer though.
Real helicopters, have Cyclic between legs...
Robbos ??? What the Hell was Frankie On ???
Robbo T-bar, would make a great "Double Dildo" for Dykes !!!

There are "so many" deaths in 22's because they are the most popular 2 seater in the world, so there is lots of them, most deaths sadly result from pilot error.(sadly).A lot of people simply wouldn't be able to fly were it not for this aircraft. (cost and availability). I fly an R22 and love it, Yes if your tall its a tight fit, but that doesn't make them "suck". Anyone who says the're crap just can't fly them! I've flown Schweizers, 44's and an EC120, "EASIER" is the word your all looking for!!

Only girls rotate the camera!

@Joester41 wat about r44?
-
It is widely considered to be about 1.2 seconds in an R22, whereas in a jetranger or otehr helipopter with similar rotorc, you have a leisurely 3-4 seconds to drop the collective and achieve a good glide speed to keep rotor rpm up.
-
Guess its a good think I fly Chinooks.
-
The only down side to the R22 is the fact that with a Carbon Composite rotor you loose the engine and the rotor spins down very quickly. You have to drop the colective in less than 1 second to keep the rpm high enough for a auto rotation landing.

man these are fun helos, i hope i never have to fly a robinson... ill stick to schweizers and bell 47s...
It appears that sadly that this aircraft was involved in a heavy lading following an AUTO ROTATION due to running out of fuel on 11th Sept 2008. and has since been broken up. I hope that both persons on board recovered quickly...

So whats your opinion Learning in Schweizer or R-22 ?

I have only flown the Schweizer so far, but I am told it is a more stable/safer platform to learn on than the R22. I couldn't find fault with it when I was training.
