Gay Pride Parade San Francisco, 2008

I hit the streets yesterday at the Civic Center Plaza in sunny San Francisco for the 2008 Gay Pride Parade. After wandering around for a bit and taking in all the sights and sounds, I decided to ask a bunch of people,"What issues are most important to you in this year's presidential election?"

Despite the festive nature of the whole ordeal, I couldn't help but feel a bit depressed when that one girl said, "I don't really care." Boy, it's a good thing nothing important is going on in the world. Great video, though. The mainstream media wouldn't think to ask serious questions. They'd just report on the event with a smirk. Still, bonus points for ending with a big dance number. haha

Fun fact, like those other really drunk girls towards the end, that girl wasn't gay. It was interesting how the straight person responses I got were so "meh, I don't care"...though I don't read too much into that.

Well, guess what, gays are everywhere. These are just the few that are open about it. Some of those naked guys are a bit much, but whatever. Kids are either gay, or they're not. Gay Pride parades can't make them gay.

More money for education? The US already spends the most money per student on education every year. Some form of actual democracy? This country is not a democracy. Democracy can not stand as a permanent form of government. The average age of the great democracies of history is out 200 years. Our founding fathers knew this and that is why they set up a Representative Republic. Democracies are killed by people using their vote to have Gov play Robin Hood.
