UFO encounter- Of the 3rd Kind - Los Roques mini-series concept footage

Welcome again to another video of my LR Mini Series. This video was an experiment I was doing with 2-D compositing created in about 20 hours. I wanted to create a video using only AfterFX and no 3-D rendering whatsoever. The goal was to create a fairly realistic atmosphere and creepy tone in a minimal amount of time without any video footage or 3d Rendering overhead.

The voices during the 911 call are mine, using a voice changing software for both the man and woman's voice.

All you are seeing are 2-D images moving as if they are in a 3 dimensional environment.
With the exception of the tall alien, spider bot, and ufo... everything else was created using photos found on the net.

AfterFX is a powerful bit of software to have in your bag of tricks.

You see.....not everything needs to be as complicated as it looks........:)

A SpecialFX breakdown video will be in the making showing some of these techniques, until then..enjoy..and God Bless.

hey do you ever composite a 3d rendered animated/object onto a still photo, then film the result off your monitor with a handheld camera to achieve natural camera shake/blur/focus?

I did that on a few of my earlier videos. I think the effect is well worth it. I wanted to be able to do all of that in post production software however, because sometimes the screen emits strange moire patterns when filming it with a vid cam.
