dad you were the best bell player to ever strut up broad street you show it in this video and if any one don't think so a little tid bit my dad never read music his last year was 1984 love you dad
i don't have any clips either but i do have the mummers magazines with the bands photo including mascot. I am a former mascot for my grandfather and his band (Avalon, Captain Harry Lawson). John Evans
I have to tell you all, that this is the mummers music that i fell in love with many years ago. i feel that the string bands and the mummers in general are trying to be something they aren't. I'd love to see the bands get back to their roots with performances such as this. As a veteran, but retired, bass sax player for many years, I love this style of mummers music and could listen to it til' the day I die.
do they let you borrow the tapes?? or can you only watch them there?? i turn vhs into dvd's with menu's and all. i've got them dating back to 79 so far. looking for other older parades too. would love to see avalon from 70 71 and 76.
now thats music!!
