@GeneStewart71269 well around age 16, he recorded Susie Q w/ Dale Hawkins, and at age 17 he joined Ricky's band. he was a pretty young star. he's got some gift!

no disrespect here but i dont get why there playing some of the old elvis tracks in this video yes james played with elvis but that was not un till 69 and in to the 70s. these tracks are played by scotty moore elvis.s original guitarist . this video could give someone the false impression that its james playing

@marycockburn1 This may clear things up for you, in 2009 James Burton attempted to break a world record with the most guitarists playing "That's Alright Mama" or "Hound Dog" this event was held at The Hirsch Colosseum, therefore I placed those songs for the people attending to be able get the song down before-hand. The rest is just showing respect to the artists (essentially Elvis).

I first met James Burton when he was around 14 years of age. He was lead guitarist in a country band that was playing on the Delhi Little Opry in Delhi, LA. At that age he was already an accomplished guitarist. I was playing in a different band at the same event nearly every Saturday night.
