My Best Friend's Birthday [1987 Short Film]

The film was completed, but the final reel was destroyed in a lab fire that broke out during editing. The surviving part of the film was shown in part to a small crowd in early 1987.

Actor Allen Garfield was teaching Quentin Tarantino acting at the time, and that is how he also became involved in the project. Filmed over three years, from 1984-1987.

Some of the dialogue would go on to be used in Quentin's script "True Romance".

It's choppy, but you can see the talent the guy already had. I would love Tarantino to do a straight-up comedy like this. I thought it was really funny. I know it burned, but does anyone know what happened in the rest of the movie? I liked the characters. I hope Clarence and Louise ended up together. And I hope something good happened to Mickey. But knowing QT, at least one of them probably died, haha.

Too many words I couldn't understand let me frustrated, I almost gave up but when you're a fan, you're a fan, and you watch !! Editors should put a restored subtitled version as bonus in dvd, I never found it, its place should be with ReservoirDogs / QT's career debut , of course, and also because he wanted to make his first movie in black&white ( and lower budget ) ... Maybe one day, he could use it as a chapter of another story and tell a different sequel / the burnt one... but is it worth ?
