@user208351 back in 2009 Freewheelin' a show on the trucker's channel on sirius/xm satellite radio "The Roaddog" talked to Bill Fries (AKA C.W. McCall). he talked with them for the entire show & took calls from the listeners. you can find the interview online.

I have driven a 1998 Peterbilt through downtown Pagosa Springs. I didn't wreck and had a load of potatoes but I couldn't help but think of this song. Much better than looking at women standing on corners in Winslow, Arizona.
