  • Something's still missing... the original had the Universal globe logo after the prologue but before the usual DRAGNET titles.

  • @MikeH0714 At least the opening sequence is fully in tact!

  • Bondage fans note: on the new DVD set this pre-credit sequence is COMPLETELY MISSING.

  • @gummboote Shout! Factory has a replacement disc available! Just go to their website, send them an email and ask for one. I just read a post within the Dragnet web group that one person wrote them and received his replacement disc within one week.

  • Shout Factory has released season two of Dragnet (1968) which features the 66 pilot. Got to watch it a couple of weeks but on the dvd part of this introduction is left out.

  • @Futura390 Shout! Factory has a replacement disc available with the full movie in tact! Just go to their web site and send them an email with your address. You should receive your replacement copy within a week!

  • Jack Webb was the best "Ad" man for the Los Angeles Police Department. It was fitting that when he died he was given a full fledged police officers funeral and badge number 714 was offically retired from the department.

  • Excellent!!! This is what jump started Dragnet for the 1960's...Thanks for posting it.

  • Love it!

  • That theme song is BAD-ASS !!

Duck Dodgers ... IN THE 23TH AND A HALF CENTURY... TO THE RESCUE !!!

  • @MrCzechers Her name was Thordis Brandt. She did a lot of bit part work during this time. She never became a big star, but she was immortalized as a bondage icon in this scene.

  • @GlitterMike Good point. I watched it again, and the skirt, blouse, and hose leave more for the imagination. The actress, whoever she is, played the part of terrified very well.

  • @MrCzechers I actually like her outfit. I prefer that secretarial look:)

  • @GlitterMike So true. If only they could have filmed her naked, or in sexy 60s lingerie.

  • The music starts at 2:06.

  • 2:29 Harry Morgan from MASH was also in the movie DRAGNET the role he plays as Bill Gannon is now the Chief in this movie

  • One of the best bondage scenes ever:)

  • @FrankLJ @FrankLJ This episode is believed to be based on the Harvey Glatman crimes.

Once he was caught, he pretty much spilled his guts, even taking investigators to locate the remains of his victims. There was simply nothing in his being that spoke to him that what he contemplated was sheer evil and must not be done. Glatman admitted his crimes and told his attorney and the judge that he wanted to die. He went to the State's gas chamber in 1959.
