I Went Swimming with Sharks!!! - Oahu, Hawaii

This is the cage swimming shark tour I took with North Shore Shark Adventures on Oahu's North Shore. It was AWESOME! Saw probably 20+ Galapagos and Sand Sharks. This company does not chum for the sharks, they take advantage of the crab fisherman who come to this area and regularly throw the unwanted crabs and bait fish in the water. Crabs are the primary food source for these sharks so they have learned to come up when they hear the sounds of the boat engines. I read that it's best to go out with the first group in the cage (they do 2-3 groups for 15-20 minutes each) because by the later groups, the sharks have figured out that this boat doesn't have food so they start to leave. I would highly recommend doing this. It's not scary at all because you're in a cage and the sharks aren't jazzed up by food or anything so they just peacefully swim around. It's really awesome!
