Stephen Stills live at The Palladium, New York - 25 October 1976

This stripped down concert appearance by Stephen Stills came in place of a much ballyhooed joint tour with Neil Young that had originally been planned. That tour was cancelled when it was reported Young developed a 'throat condition' - although it is rumored he left in a dispute with Stills. Their joint studio LP Long May You Run, came out in September of 1976, and in order to save the summer concert season of 1976, Stills grabbed the rhythm section from CSN (drummer Joe Vitale and bassist George "Chocolate" Perry) and did the closest thing to an unplugged tour as he has ever done

  • I saw this tour(w/oNeil) at the Univ. of Miami student union patio. Some of the songs from the "Long May You Run" album were so new, Steve had to read the sheet music while he was sitting at the piano. Everyone kept yelling, "where's Neil?" Finally Steve said, "fuck Neil Young, I'm here playing and he's not and if you don't shut up, I'm leavin'!" Needless to say, everyone shut up real fast. It was a stellar show, cool breeze was blowin' through and plenty of smoke in the air,

    long time ago...

  • We're off to see CSN Friday night.. Saw Stills during this solo UK tour last year.. he's playing better these days than the past 20 years.. and sounding great too. Hope tomorrows show is worth tthe wait.. I've been sitting on the tickets for months!

  • Good job, MissP. I enjoyed your video more than when I saw Stephen and Neil on this tour (they were having a bad night when they were in Philadelphia). Here, Stephen is back to his usual top form. Thanks!

  • Hey Ouroboros, Great name!

The whole set is just fab.. I'll upload a couple of the others soon. He does 'I Give You Give Blind' which he says is "so new I'm gonna have to read it off the paper". Four Days gone is also just marvellous!
