Very interesting, which style of hurdy gurdy do you prefer, the flat back, or curve (lute) back style? Which is more comfortable for playing? Which has a better sound?

And it was finished in just under a year from the order date, which impressed me. Very nicely built instrument, quite pleased with it, excellent coups with a light touch, and the keys play very very cleanly. And by the way the semi-rigid case is a great case!

This one was built for me. The thinking behind the 3-chanter design is that sessions always seem to go back and forth between DG and GC tunings, and for some of us who love DG but need to deal with the GC situation when it comes up, it's nice to have just one gurdy that is killer in DG but will do a decent job in GC -- without the expense of a second instrument, or hauling around both to sessions. A 3-chanter will do that for about $700 over the cost of a 2-chanter (3rd chanter + 2 drone capos)
