I think the thing that bugs Lydon more than anything is being told what to do - or threatened out of doing something. He said that he'd play in Arab countries - if they'd have him - but that they won't. He can be contradictory and disingenuous sometimes - but I'm inclined to take him at his word on this one. He just wanted to play to the fans and see the country. It doesn't mean that he's particularly anti-Palestinian or pro-Israel.

John is awesome. That is all.

@highschoolmusical841 I read that Sid wrote Belsen. Just about the only thing he wrote

I loved the Pistols and PIL when I was 16 in '78. They were part of an important new era which promised much but ultimately delivered little. Britpop produced the kind of scene I was looking for back then. But by '94 my youth was slipping away fast. Shame. Lydon was relevant in the late 70's. But now? A scratched record. I think he is too easily disparaging of new bands. There is a lot of excellent, vital, talented and original and HONEST stuff around now. He doesn't have a monopoly on it
