This scene says a lot about life. I think of it often as I practice my guitar skills. Amen for this scene. It just says so much in one minute and fifty seconds. God bless anyone who stumbles upon this video - MAY THE FORCE BE W/ YOU.

@pathsounds Good point.

I agree.

Very good observation. Anakin always felt criticized by Kenobi so yes, he knows that if he presses Luke too much he might get pushed over to the dark side.
In this clip he does´nt tell LUke he should become a jedi right away either but merely opens a glimpse into the potential of the force.

I remember back in my days a a young padawan, my master used to say: "listen son, you better get yo god damn priorities straight or I'll get medieval on yo ass". I never took that as 'talking down' to me. Au contraire, I saw it as affectionate banter. Take it from an old jedi, you suckers should get a life. The Star Wars Universe does not exist, it was destroyed a long time ago by the evil forces, only George Lucas survived it to tell the story but he is also soon gone.

the blade looks crappy,shouldve been alittle more blue
Obi-Wan must have learned his lesson/mellowed since his days with Anakin; he seems much more patient with Luke. Kenobi was always talking down to Anakin: "Padawan" or "Young Padawan" or "Young One" or some other veiled slap-in-the-face. I recall Qui-Gon being respectful toward Obi-Wan when he was a student so I don't know where Kenobi got the attitude.

@jksonny To become something, you have to start from the ground up. That's what it's like training in anything. Working as a young chef in a professional kitchen, you start out, and are referred to, as a commis chef. Training as a jedi, you're referred to as a padawan. Ranking inspires motivation to reach new levels. I know I wouldn't want to be lied to and referred to as a fellow jedi, when I know I'm not. I've turned down job offers because I know I'm not really at that level yet.
