Isn't 19 volts a little high as input to the HT? I have an IC-T7H and it uses 11 volts. What HT are you using?

Its going through an inverter and DC transformer first so the HT is only actually getting 12 volts

Did you tin the tabs with solder?

I actually tinned the bus lines on the panel using a flux and then heated the tabs and moved them into the tinning on the panel.

Nice job with that Solar Panel. Hope it stays waterproof and doesn't fog up. How have you solved those problems and what did you use for the transparent medium. And have a good source for the Solar Cells to share?

FYI When you keyed up your HT on that transmitter, I hope you used your Callsign to identify at some point. I think that is what kg4bga was trying to convey. Transmitting without a Callsign could land large FCC fines. Kerchunking is also annoying to many listeners. Yup, control op.

Yes LEDs don't leak mercury but at the time they were extremely expensive, and hate to break it to you but CFLs do leak mercury.

LEDs don't leak mercury :) Neither do CFLs, for that matter- as long as you are responsible.
