I love to watch this movie again now. Love the music, the acting and the dramaturgy of the colors in the film. I never understood why Joan never liked the movie. The movie is excellent!

You have to love Joan Crawford at any stage of her career. I don't think she was miscast. They wanted Joan and they wanted Mercedes McCambridge. They also got Sterling Hayden which was a stroke of genius. Everybody thought Joan was a bitch.

Hayden & Mccambridge both publicly stated their dislike for Joan, Mercedes said that Joan was a mean, tipsy, powerful rotten egg lady. It doesn't matter because everyone in this cast gave an outstanding performance. It's amazing that Ernest Borgnine is still alive today on 11/14/11 and is 94 years old. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS CLASSIC JOAN CRAWFORD MOVIE !
