@Chris51 Don't forget the vouchers for furniture and white goods given out by Harvey Norman. As my young daughter's family battles with the lion's share of their income going toward their ramshackle first home buyers cottage, they cannot even afford a dentist and increasingly medical care that bulk bills without large gap fees (afterall, they've paid the Medicare Levy). And they are the lucky ones with a roof over their heads.

Such a pity because it brought about retribution in larger numbers as Governor Phillip was acting brutally and against British law. Such an action was uncharacteristic of Phillip, but it showed that he did not believe that Aboriginal people had to be treated according to the same laws and Europeans. Not all Governors had the same views.
