@alexcubata Yeah Stoichkov was pure striker though, those others I mentioned were midfield maestros..e.g. Hagi played deep behind the strikers Raducioiu or Dumitrescu in his world cup of 94. But Stoichkov a hell of a forward yeah. He scared the crap outta Germany in 1994, by knocking out the then world champions.

gheorghe hagi...a real legend indeed.we miss your skills.His misfortune is that he was born in romania.if he had played for France or Brazil, certainly that would have won the Golden Ball many times.there is no difference between him and players such as Zidane and Platini, maybe a plus for Hagi;).we love you hagi and we will not forget u.

@SuperRemyBonjasky Well then as a player, maybe Hagi is a little like Alexander the Great when he captained the Romanians. Hagi really was that good, a maestro like Platini, Diego, or Zizou. The only other Eastern block players to compare were the genius Stojkovic, and Savicevic at Milan.. but none as good. And that is another reason he is compared to Diego, his power to create goals and his leadership were inspiring.

Such a shame the manager Cruyff had too many big attacking players (Stoichkov, Romario, Jordi, Salinas..) and couldn't build the team around Hagi, who was in his prime after USA 94. See how Real were better in the 90s, as they build their team, either with Hierro or then Redondo, with Raul the main creative player ahead of them = a strong backbone to the team. Bit like how AC Milan had too many attackers in 1995, and couldn't build the team around Baggio, who was equally gifted.
