I had the cylinderhead rebuilt and I rebuilt the gearbox. Short block is std 1275, but head is MG Metro and camshaft is Kent MD 276. I used a Maniflow medium bore LCB manifold and a Maniflow CarbonTec rear box. Gearbox is std apart from uprated diff pin and central oil pickup pipe. Engine is running for the first time, so I still have to set it up.

  • Hi there, The mini is sounding mint! how is it to drive? that is if you have finished it! I am building a similar spec myself, would you recommend the kent 276?

  • @Theultimategooch It's a blast to drive, floor it and you're pushed into the seat. Due to the 276 camshaft, the idle is a bit rough although the flywheel is not lightened. For daily use it's not really practical, but for weekend tours it's great. For daily use I would recommend a Piper 255 or an Swiftune SW-5
