Sinsarcasm is right. This song also reminds me of the once great and powerful US of A, now also called the Titanic. Besides, diablo is written with a V.
Sinsarcasmo's moniker means "Without sarcasm" in Spanish, yet his/her comments are pure bitter derision representative of those with envy and resentments. Is it because their culture and self worth is mediocre, thus needing to put others down to make themselves feel superior? Sure seems like it. Oh, and English is the lingua franca of the world, and indispensable for those with greater aspirations. Great tune, btw.
04279 there is no Russian original for THIS song "Those were the days"
The song "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" (Дорогой длинною) written by Boris Fomin with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevski, which Vertinsky sang, had nothing in common at all with Gene Raskins who sang with the "limelighters" and who recorded it first.
This is not a translation and has no similarity whatsoever with Podrevskys.
No offense, but who needs to teach English to kids, anymore? Au contraire! American kids should be learning Chinese. Shakespeare will be soon forgotten as a great writer of a forgotten language, as the dollar dwindles into oblivion. Who needs Shakespeare if he says WHAT THE F$%^&??? LOL! I agree with you. Ironies do abound.
American Imperialism??? What is an empire up to its ears in debt??? LOL!
@DragonovSVD Well, the russian original version is hard to find, it was sang by Alexandr Vertinsky in the 20s. But I found some russian cover versions for you. /watch?v= xazMJtUXCbg&feature=related --> sang by Nikolay Baskov /watch?v= woYGLahWhlg --> sang by the belarus band Pesnyary. /watch?v= vd5q1Ioo588 --> sang by Manca Izmajlova Hope, I could help you.

Oh, lick some shoes.
This song is a great reminder of current events and US and Brutish snobbish axholes.
You are a poor Venezuelan. Oh, lick some shoes.
It reminds me of proudish assholes now suffering their demise.
I sing this song to them.
Only great spelling begets respect. LOL
