  • My worldly step-dad was an awesome guy sometimes. I'd want to watch a monster-movie on tv, Mom said 'No!' he said he wants to watch it too, Mom would give up. I'd watch my show, he'd go back to reading his novels. I miss him!

  • @727Phoenix My dad was an elder. I didn't get quite that lucky. He was an ok step dad, had his faults but no where near as crazy as mom. Of course I was never on the wrong end of a JC with him.

  • After my Smurf doll threw a Magic 8-Ball at my mom while I was singing "Helter-Skelter," she was also paranoid of demonic items.

  • @727Phoenix I missed out on so much not having a smurf doll. I missed it throwing stuff at mom. I missed it bursting into flames and walking out of the KH while swearing up a blue (no pun) streak. My stretch armstrong doll, just stretched, he was usless haha.

  • The formula for JWs pretty much is If it's exciting or fun or interesting, it's from The Devil. Although I do have to say that I was raised a JW but my mom was very cool about TV shows and movies. She let me watch shows like "The Smurfs" or Dracula movies because she knew they are just fiction and I wouldn't take them seriously.

  • @tubian323 My dad was a bit more lax about TV shows, but not much. He liked Sci Fi, so we got to watch that with him, when he watched. He was our step-dad so he pretty much let mom rule the roost when it came to us kids.

  • Hallo to Danmera. You are looking right well.

I hope your mickey-mouse ears made it through the winter OK.

Just a note of care to say i was thinking (&& at times worried) of your

big mickey mouse ears. My ears are OK as well, they just made it.

    Mucho.

  • A woman after my own heart... Back in Black I love ac dc. I remember when I was a kid,my grandmother was given this literature from a return visit, it had to be burnt down the back yard too.. Ha ha. I also remember the whole thing about... It might not burn cos it's demonic. OMG you forget about all that stuff.

  • my dad taught me not to be superstitious. but we had this JW house guest and daughters visit one summer, that had that nutty view, dad and I were watching all those fun light comedies, geniis, star trek, etc. and the people I stayed with another summer, same, sad I said that is superstitious and not realism. Hey teddy ruckspin playing a def leopard tape it worked.....
