If folks have a piano they'd like to toss - What's the problem? Let them toss it. It's their piano, new, old - who cares? People do more damage texting while driving, crashing their trendy Japanese hybrids into innocent pedestrians, motorcyclists, bicyclists , and other motorists. Where's the outrage about THAT?
Toss more pianos - Text and talk less while driving.
Probably shouldn't text while tossing pianos either, come to think of it.

Hi, It's sad breaking piano for the fun of seeing them flying. I thought Burning Man was about finding new ways to preserve Earth and its ressources.

Hi yannoche. We don't know the state of the piano. Perhaps it is simply a "prop", a shell made for art's sake. We don't know from where the piano came or where its remains are going. Perhaps the broken pieces will be used in an art piece and this is simply the means to a vision. If we look a bit further, maybe we will see art in a different way. To understand what BM is about check out the site and read the Mission Statement and Ten Principles. Most people misinterpret the meaning of BM. Peace.
