A BBC Documentary about former Romanian communist leader Nicoloae Ceausescu who after leading Romania for decades was overthrown in a violent swift 'revolution'. Despite public distaste for the former Ceausescu regime, Some nostalgics continue to honour his image. Rate, comment and enjoy. btw...didnt he have a crazy wife??

  • @ukusapillage WRONG what bankrupted our country 3 times was a neo-liberal freemansonry controled regime..... just as it is happening now

  • @immortalflux the problem is within the governments and the idea of politics and people that had developed in romania throughout its history. ceaucescu did horrible things, but basescu has been no better, the monarchy before the war was indeed the same bad, just because the concept of politics developed by the elite is not moved in "improving the living of the people". they do not care for the life of romanian people, if they would, romania would be ten times richer and less corrupt than it is.

  • This has got to be one of the worst documentaries on Communism and Romania I've ever seen, not only does it mainly interview ex communist members who took part in the cancer that Romania suffered under communism, but it fails miserably at explaining actual life and background of what happened there. Despite the mostly factually accurate historic events and references, it's a poor excuse for a documentary. What was the message? That Ceausescu was a great, albeit selfish leader of a poor country?

  • I don't know who Ceusescu thought he was fooling, anyone outside Romania could see that Romanians were starving to death while he and his idiot bitch of a wife lived in luxury!

  • @2moonsMaster haha, he probably was romanian! ;)

  • @geniuszkarpat12 Ceausescu was the only gate to the Western powers .

The first rebellion in Timisoara was orchestrated by the national security and soviet officers . After the revolution most of the archives were burnt and a soviet bitch called Iliescu came to power and then we got a solid 10 years of original democracy .

Sincerely , we are trying to correct our mistakes , but it's a bit hard when there isn't any solid proof of what happened in the past 70 years .

  • @geniuszkarpat12 Mate you can't compare Romania to the other ex-communist countries.

Ceausescu was greeted and applauded by the Queen of England , the president of France , the president of USA etc. . He was against the Soviet Union and all the other World leaders presented themselves as friends of Ceausescu .

Romania was the only country where blood was spilled in 1989 before and after Ceausescu lost power.

  • @7:18 did I just take acid?

  • This is so surreal.

  • Vadim Tudor a poet?He was so far up the Ceausescu family's ass his face is still covered in shit after more than 20 years.A poet is not someone who writes majestic poems about dictators and their bitch wives just to secure a strong position in office. The very fact that this man appeared in a documentary about Romania's history is very sad,but only shows how little people know about Romania, that they decided to include him in this.He is a washed up,insane,ultra-nationalist,racist politician.
